Black Rose began as an impromptu shared live performance between Henrik Schwarz and Jesse Rose, and has organically transformed into 2010's most exciting live collaboration in dance music. Described by Germany's Groove magazine as the best Live/DJ collaboration they have heard, Black Rose are set to release their debut single in January 2011 on Made to Play.

During a set in Barcelona, as Jesse puts it, "Henrik was playing live and I was DJ'ing and at some point he asked me if I would mind if we played back-to-back for a bit. I asked, 'You are going to play live, while I am DJ'ing?' and Henrik simply replied, 'Yes, let's do it.' So he came onto the stage and started to mix 'Leave My Head Alone Brain' into my set and the kids in the club just went crazy."

Easily deemed a staggering success, this little experiment flourished once again at Berlin's infamous Panorama Bar, and immediately provoked huge booking demand with people calling the duo Black Rose before the name became official.Henrik and Jesse wasted little time in spreading the Black Rose experience in 2010 at festivals such as Melt, Exit, Five Days Off, and exclusive parties at Watergate and the 5 Year's of Made to Play night at Panorama Bar. Looking forward, one can expect a carefully selected set of exclusive festival appearances for Black Rose in 2011, and most importantly a January release of their massive record entitled 'Anthem' named after receiving exceptional praise from a global audience.

Henrik Schwarz grew up in South Germany where he pruned his musical curiosities in the early 90's with a few synths and simple drum machine. Over the past decade, Henrik has established himself as a pillar of Berlin's dominant electronic scene, producing material for Moodmusic, Innervisions, a DJ Kicks compilation for !K7, and his self-owned label, Sunday-Music. With a bag of success ranging from the 2005 hit 'Leave My Head Alone Brain' to epic remixes for Boy George, Stevie Wonder, Cold Cut, Omar, Bill Withers, Jazzanova and many more, Henrik continues to perform at a prolific level matched perhaps only by the other half of Black Rose.

The man who lives his motto of "Sleep Less", Jesse Rose broke the ice of Berlin's techno scene with a breath of fresh house that has become a trademark style fans can pinpoint on dance floors from Australia, to Japan, and back to his native UK. Producing dance tracks since his early teens, Jesse cultivated a beloved off- kilter house sound over the years to become an award-winning DJ icon, commanding some serious international respect such as one of MixMag's 2007 Top Ten Best DJs. 2010 was a momentous year for Rose, as his label celebrated 'Five Years of Made to Play', all the while giving life to a new label, Play it Down - a stripped down underground offshoot. Jesse also found time to produce Hot Chip, Major Lazer & Chiddy Bang. Rose will make a hop over the pond to Los Angeles for the first sixth months of 2011, focusing on producing music for other artists and further growing his clearly dominant dance empire.
