Cara Salimando
Contact
Cara Salimando is a nineteen year old singer/songwriter, hailing from New Jersey. Since she was very young, Cara had been composing little melodies on her toy piano... her passion for composition grew along with her, and she continued on to pen her first song at the age of ten. And she hasn't stopped since.
In 2009, Cara was discovered playing her original music in a local taco
bar; the discovery led to Cara's audition and signing with
Universal Motown and SRP Records, an independent label run by Evan
Rogers and Carl Sturken (whose credits include discovering the Barbadian
singer/pop star, Rihanna).
Cara has since graduated high school, gone on
a tour with Ingrid Michaelson and Mat Kearney; flown to Paris to shoot a
music video for her first single; opened for Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marc
Cohn, and Martin Sexton; and co-wrote songs with the likes of Dan Wilson
of Semisonic, Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional, and Barrett
Yeretsian (producer and co-writer of Christina Perri's multi-platinum
hit 'Jar of Hearts').
Currently, Cara resides in New York City. She is finishing her full length album with Brooklyn-based producer Dan Romer (best known for his work with the queen of Indie pop, Ingrid Michaelson).
With a disarming charm and lyrics full of imagery, her warm tone tells stories that we quickly find ourselves in.
